WebDec 1, 2016 · Abstract. The chiral magnetic effect (CME) is the generation of electrical current induced by chirality imbalance in the presence of magnetic field. It is a macroscopic manifestation of the quantum chiral anomaly [S. L. Adler. Axial-vector vertex in spinor electrodynamics. Physical Review, 177, 2426 (1969), J. S. Bell and R. Jackiw. Webhigh mobility Dirac carriers [1]. These include the chiral magnetic effect [2] and the 3D quantum Hall effect (3DQHE) [3]. Anomalous thermoelectric effects in the quantum limit [4] are also possibly connected to the unusual dispersion behavior [5,6], and ZrTe5 also shows the emergence of multiple superconducting phases under highpressure[7].
